    • Oklahoma Arts Council

Artists and collaborative artist teams can submit qualifications for the design and oversight of installation of a terrazzo floor artwork for an Oklahoma Art in Public Places project at the Allen Wright Memorial Library near the Oklahoma State Capitol in Oklahoma City.

The Allen Wright Memorial Library is the home of the Oklahoma Department of Libraries, the state's central agency for library and archival services. The agency's mission is to expand access to information, sustain the infrastructure of Oklahoma libraries, and safeguard the state's documentary heritage.

For the building's renovation, the commissioned artwork can honor the library's namesake, Chief Allen Wright—credited as the person who suggested Indian Territory be called "Oklahoma"—while primarily highlighting the role and impact of the Oklahoma Department of Libraries. A terrazzo floor is envisioned to guide visitors toward the newly updated public archival area, serving as both a welcoming entry feature and an artistic pathway. The size of the artwork area is approximately 1,795 square feet and is located at the entryway of the facility.

The artist or artist team will receive $35,000 to design and oversee the terrazzo artwork installation.

Deadline for submissions is January 13, 2026.

Download the RFQ for complete details about the project.

      • Uncanny Art House

Uncanny Art House is currently accepting submissions for this exhibition until October 30th. Step inside the surreal world of David Lynch at In Dreams: A David Lynch Tribute, opening January 9, 2026, during Norman’s 2nd Friday Art Walk. Running through March 1, this immersive exhibition transforms the gallery into a Lynchian dreamscape with interactive rooms, looping highway projections, and a Black Lodge installation with zigzag floors and red curtains.

Visitors will explore themes of duality, voyeurism, and uncanny Americana through painting, sculpture, photography, video, and installation art. Special programs will include a screening of David Lynch: The Art Life, a meditative event for Lynch’s birthday, and more during this special two month long exhibition.

Artists are invited to submit works that reflect Lynchian
themes: voyeurism, doppelgängers, Americana with a dark undercurrent, surreal encounters, and the strangeness within the ordinary. Works may be directly inspired by Lynch’s films and artwork, or they may channel the uncanny spirit of his style.

All mediums are welcome, including painting, photography, sculpture, installation, video, digital art, and mixed media.

This application is free and open to the public.
